Sale of coal from Kara-Keche mine suspended in Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyz Komur state enterprise informs that it temporarily suspended sale of coal from Kara-Keche mine in Naryn region of Kyrgyzstan.

This is due to works at the quarry and exploration of a new coal seam. The company informed that the supply of coal to the Bishkek HPP will continue according to the schedule.

As the press service of the enterprise explained, the sale of coal will resume after January 10, 2022.

An incident occurred at Kara-Keche coal mine earlier. Servicemen of Alpha special forces of the State Committee for National Security fired into the air several times. People dissatisfied with the fact that coal is not sold to ordinary citizens gathered at the mine. Special forces fired into the air during a skirmish between them.

The press service of the enterprise stated that third forces were to blame for the incident between Alpha servicemen and the drivers of heavy vehicles.
