State regulation of coal prices will be introduced in Kyrgyzstan from October 25, 2023. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce reported.
The ministry notes that the regulation of solid fuel prices will be in effect for 90 calendar days. The decision was made to prevent an increase in coal prices, ensure its affordability for the population, and also taking into account the special social significance of coal for the population and the existing risks of an unreasonable increase in its prices during the heating season.
«The Antimonopoly Regulation Service will set maximum levels of coal prices in the context of regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as Bishkek and Osh cities,» the Ministry of Economy said.
