President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed a decree on the National Security Concept of Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the President reported.
The document was adopted to consolidate efforts and to increase effectiveness of preventing, suppressing and neutralizing threats to the country’s national security. It is also necessary to strengthen the defense capability and international cooperation in this field.
The Cabinet of Ministers in cooperation with Parliament was instructed to develop and adopt normative legal acts aimed at implementation of the Concept. All state agencies developing normative legal acts and other documents related to ensuring national interests of Kyrgyzstan must be guided by the provisions of the Concept and ensure its implementation.
Officials have to develop sectoral, regional and departmental programs (doctrines, concepts and plans) to ensure national security in the short, medium and long term with determining the target indicators of security in the relevant areas within two months and, upon agreement with the Secretary of the Security Council, submit them to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval in accordance with the established procedure.
The Cabinet of Ministers and Presidential Envoys to the regions are to coordinate and monitor the timely implementation of the Concept and the developed programs by the involved government agencies and local authorities on a permanent basis.
