The situation at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border is stable. Abdykerim Alimbaev, Presidential Envoy to Batken region of Kyrgyzstan, said at a press conference.
According to him, the intergovernmental commission on delimitation and demarcation of certain sections of the border continues its work.
«Delimitation and demarcation of the border is a complicated issue. Decision is made by the two sides. The commission is working, there is progress. The most difficult issue is the villages located close to each other. Work is being done in this direction,» Abdykerim Alimbaev said.
Maksat Saparali Adinaev, a resident of Maksat village, who attended the press conference, noted that Batken residents still live in fear. «We ask the president to step up work on border delimitation,» he added.
