Mobile complex handed over to Especially Dangerous Infections Center

The Center for Quarantine and Especially Dangerous Infections received a mobile complex for bacteriological and other research. Press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The complex was donated by Russia. The Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Uluk-Bek Bekturganov thanked the government of the Russian Federation for the assistance and technical support in strengthening the material, technical, personnel potential of the anti-plague service of the republic. «Special thanks to colleagues from Russia for training, transfer of experience in using mobile complexes in emergency situations,» he said.

Ekaterina Naidenova, senior researcher at the Russian Research Anti-Plague Institute Microbe, noted that two laboratories were organized in the mobile complex — a bacteriological and an indication one, which make it possible to conduct research on pathogens of dangerous infectious diseases such as cholera, plague, COVID-19 in compliance with all biosecurity regulations.

In addition, supplies of reagents, consumables, test kits, and various equipment for the center continue. «Four mobile express diagnostic laboratories received earlier have proven themselves to be excellent in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. They were used in regions not covered by virology laboratories, and made it possible to cope with dramatically increased volumes of virological studies of patients and contacts,» the Ministry of Health said.

The ministry noted that joint field studies in natural foci of plague and other zoonoses make it possible to increase the necessary level of knowledge and skills of domestic specialists, and to improve the quality of surveillance for quarantine infections.
