Malignant neoplasms are more often detected in women in Kyrgyzstan. The National Statistical Committee reported.

According to its data, more than 5,000 cases of malignant neoplasms were registered in the republic in 2020. «More than 54 percent of them were detected in women, about 46 percent — in men. Higher incidence in women has been registered in the last five years,» the National Statistical Committee noted.

In 2020, there were 88 cases among women and 75 — among men per 100,000 people . Overall, the figure decreased by 1.3 percent compared to 2016.

The highest share of registered cases of malignant neoplasms diagnosed for the first time in life was observed in the age group of 60 and older among both women (47.4 percent) and men (57.4 percent).
