At least 320 million soms were allocated to Kyrgyzstan for development of sustainable winter tourism. The Embassy of Switzerland in the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to it, the project on sustainable development of winter tourism was launched on Thursday in Karakol city. It is aimed at contribution to the provision with decent jobs and income opportunities for many people working in this area.
«Tourism can be an important factor in economic growth in Kyrgyzstan, creating income and opportunities for many people. Support of the government and other local partners in development of the private sector remains a priority of Swiss cooperation,» the Ambassador Olivier Bangerter said.
The project will also address climate change and environmental issues.
