The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan (CEC) discussed the petition of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) against the Green Party candidate Kairat Turdumaliev.
The motion was granted. The candidate is a suspect in the case on attempted violent seizure of power.
It is worth reminding that Nuris Suerkulov, Ruslan Akmatbekov, Beknazar Kupeshev and several members of El Yntymagy movement — Azamat Musakeev, Nurbek Kalakeev, N. Satynbekov, K. Satar uulu, Askat Temraliev were detained within the case on the attempted forcible seizure of power. They are in the pre-trial detention facility #1 until January 26, 2022.
The SCNS previously reported about a group planning to seize power.
According to the investigation, Askat Temraliev, Bakytbek Zhetigenov and the candidates from the Green Party of Kyrgyzstan planned to seize power after the announcement of the election results. They were counting on the support of certain political forces, including those who could lose the parliamentary elections.
