Elections 2021: CEC receives 196 statements and complaints

The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan (CEC) received 196 statements, complaints and appeals as of 8.00 a.m. on November 28. Member of the election commission, Kairat Mamatov, announced at a briefing today.

According to him, the operational response coordination group received 106 statements, the working group for consideration of statements and complaints — 50, the working group for information and campaigning — 40.

«Of 50 statements received by the working group for consideration of statements and complaints, one at a time related to possible bribery of voters, violation of the procedure for financing the electoral fund, registration of authorized candidates. There was also one petition from the investigating authorities. In addition, 30 statements related to possible violations of the conditions of the election campaign, seven — the use of administrative resources, five — cancellation of the registration of a candidate or list of candidates and two each — the procedure for nominating candidates and spread of deliberately false information about candidates,» Kairat Mamatov said.

At least 29 statements were submitted in Bishkek, in Osh — one, in Osh region — nine, in Talas region — five, in Issyk-Kul region — four and in Jalal-Abad region — two.

Deputies of the seventh convocation of Parliament are elected in Kyrgyzstan today. The electoral system was changed in the country, so there will be 90 deputies instead of 120. As a result, 54 deputies of the Parliament will be elected according to the proportional system (open lists of candidates of political parties) in the single electoral district, 36 deputies — according to the majority system in single-mandate constituencies.
