Mikhail Mishustin and Akylbek Japarov meet in Yerevan

The Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin met with the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov in Yerevan on the sidelines of the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. The government of the Russian Federation reports.

The parties discussed the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic. In particular, it is stated that Russia will organize polling stations for voting of citizens of Kyrgyzstan staying in the Russian Federation.

Air traffic with Bishkek, Osh and Issyk-Kul will be resumed from December 1.

In addition, the issue of supplies of a vaccine against coronavirus from the Russian Federation to Kyrgyzstan was discussed. Last week Russia delivered 200,000 doses of Sputnik Light vaccine to Kyrgyzstan. The parties also touched upon the issues of mutual trade. It was noted that the trade turnover between the countries in January-September 2021 increased by almost 38 percent and amounted to more than $1.7 billion.

The Heads of Government also spoke about the work of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund. To date, RKDF is implementing almost 1,400 projects. As for humanitarian cooperation, attention was drawn to the fact that a humanitarian project has been operating since 2019, within the framework of which Russian teachers are sent to schools in Kyrgyzstan.

«We value friendship and partnership with Kyrgyzstan, our fraternal relations. We are interested in development of our cooperation in all areas. I hope that under your leadership, the government and the Administration of the President of Kyrgyzstan will ensure continuity in the multifaceted vector of development of our relations,» Mikhail Mishustin said.
