At least 23 new traffic lights have been installed in Bishkek. Press service of the capital’s City Hall reported.
According to it, 18 of them are transport and 5 are pedestrian ones. «At least 15 transport and 3 pedestrian traffic lights are working in the test mode to date. Three more transport and 2 pedestrian traffic lights are to be commissioned,» the City Hall said.
It added that there are plans to prepare design estimates for 20 objects, but they will be built next year. There will be 33 new traffic lights for transport and 10 for pedestrians. They will be located mainly near schools, kindergartens and in busy areas.
«The list was formed on the basis of citizens’ appeals, proposals of district administrations and taking into account the conclusion of the Traffic Supervision Department of the capital,» the City Hall added.
