President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov examined Den Sooluk medical and rehabilitation complex located in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region. Press service of the head of state reported.
Director of the rehabilitation center, Tilek Matkerimova, told the president about activities of the complex, built to restore and strengthen the health of children and mothers from remote areas of the country, orphans and low-income families. According to the project, the complex consists of eight units, which were supposed to accommodate several departments: allergology, oncology, pulmonology, obstetric-gynecological, pediatric surgery, functional diagnostics and neurological. The complex should also include bedrooms, clinical laboratories, a catering unit, a laundry room, and a magnetic resonance imager was to be installed.
Location of the complex was chosen taking into account the climatic and balneological conditions on the northern shore of Issyk-Kul lake.
During the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the rehabilitation complex worked as a hospital for treatment of patients with coronavirus infection.
«The complex was not completed in due time due to lack of funds. If it is put into operation, it will be able to simultaneously admit 250 children with their mothers,» Tilek Matkerimova told.
The head of state examined the complex, got acquainted with the required volume of construction work, stressing that funds for the project would be found in the near future. Sadyr Japarov noted the importance of development of a medical rehabilitation center in Issyk-Kul region, which would provide services to patients all year round and have a good effect on improving their health.
The government agencies have been tasked to promptly prepare cost estimates for the capital reconstruction of the complex.
