Sooronbai Jeenbekov meets with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev

President Sooronbai Jeenbekov met with the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan to attend a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. The Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov noted that he warmly recalls negotiations and meetings with Dmitry Medvedev.

«I have always felt your support. You are known in Kyrgyzstan as a true friend, who has made a significant contribution to the development of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. We consider you as a close friend, who has always treated Kyrgyzstan in a special way,» Sooronbai Jeenbekov said.

Dmitry Medvedev noted that he was glad of the opportunity to visit Kyrgyzstan again, namely its pearl — Issyk-Kul lake. «I have already been here, but every time I am amazed at the beauty of this place. There are good conditions to discuss our bilateral relations, but at the same time hold a meeting of the heads of government of the states that are members of the Eurasian Union. We have very good relations, we advise on a variety of issues. To the extent possible, we try to provide assistance and support to our friend and partner, Kyrgyzstan. Do not doubt, it will continue this way,» Dmitry Medvedev assured.

He conveyed greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin to Sooronbai Jeenbekov and added that before the trip they discussed issues of relations between the two states. «I am sure that today’s meeting will also contribute to the development of a comprehensive partnership between our countries. There is always something to discuss in both bilateral and multilateral formats. I hope the wonderful atmosphere of Issyk-Kul will contribute to this in every way,» said Dmitry Medvedev.

Sooronbai Jeenbekov and Dmitry Medvedev discussed the prospects for trade and economic cooperation, the progress in implementation of the agreements reached as a part of Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Kyrgyzstan, as well as the organization and holding of events within the framework of the declared 2020 bilateral year of the two countries.
