In 2018, the prosecution authorities of Kyrgyzstan have initiated 754 criminal cases on corruption against officials. The deputy head of the Anti-Corruption and Supervision over Implementation of Laws Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office Zalkarbek Aknazarov told at a press conference.
«Most of the criminal cases were initiated against employees of local governments — 96, the State Registration Service — 92, education system — 36. At least 27 criminal cases were opened against employees of the internal affairs bodies. Cases have been filed against two judges, customs officers and officials of the Ministry of Health,» he said.
According to the deputy head of the department, the prosecution authorities have registered 31,000 violations of the law for the year.
This year, prosecutors have returned to the state treasury 680 million soms as compensation for damage.
