The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan checks the citizenship of a deputy of the Parliament, Bakhadyr Suleymanov. Deputy head of the Central Election Commission Abdyzhapar Bekmatov told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the CEC received documents from the Ombudsman Tokon Mamytov the day before. «We sent a request to the Foreign Affairs Ministry and are waiting for an answer now. If the fact that Bakhadyr Suleymanov really has a passport of a Chinese citizen is confirmed, then he will be deprived of his deputy seat in accordance with the set procedure,» said Abdyzhapar Bekmatov.
The deputy himself categorically denies citizenship of the PRC.
