Aravan District Court sentenced a 57-year-old woman, who gave into marriage her underage granddaughter, to a suspended sentence. The Osh Regional Court informed 24.kg news agency.
A criminal case was opened under the Article «Involvement of a minor in committing a crime.»
The woman committed the crime after learning that her granddaughter was pregnant.
The woman fully admitted her guilt and told that her granddaughter and father of the baby had been friends before, so she decided to hold a religious wedding ceremony. The woman repented of her deed.
The minor girl herself admitted in court that she married voluntarily after she became pregnant.
The court found the woman guilty and handed her three years of suspended sentence. Neither the defendant nor the state prosecutors appealed the verdict.
