The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) confirmed to 24.kg news agency the involvement of the ex-head of the government’s executive office Nurkhanbek Momunaliev in fictitious repair of the Bishkek Heating and Power Plant.
After the scandal in connection with the breakdown at the Bishkek HPP, several criminal cases were opened by SCNS, some top managers of the energy industry were arrested.
Nurkhanbek Momunaliev resigned as head of the government’s executive office at his own request in March.
After his resignation, it became known that his close relative is the founder of Aimar Energy LLC, with which Electric Stations JSC signed a fictitious contract for the repair of boiler units of the capital’s heating plant.
Interrogation of Nurkhanbek Momunaliev took place on March 22. He was interrogated on the facts of a fictitious tender, writing off and appropriating large sums of money allocated for repair and preparatory works for the heating season 2017/18.
The SCNS confirmed that the founder of Aimar Energy was a close relative of the former official.
