Omurbek Tekebayev complains of video recording in his cell to UN Committee

Former deputy of the Parliament Omurbek Tekebayev, convicted of corruption, complained to the UN Human Rights Committee of unauthorized video recording in his cell. Lawyer of Ata Meken party Taalaigul Toktakunova told 24.kg news agency.

According to her, documents for sending to the international organization on the case of Omurbek Tekebayev have already been prepared. The list will include also the statement of the Socialist about video recording in a closed cell in correctional colony No. 47, where he is kept.

Installation of video surveillance without consent of a prisoner and even without informing him about the installation of a video camera is a direct violation of human rights.

The former deputy refutes this information, claiming that he did not give consent to video surveillance.
