Ala-Archa riverbed was cleared near the bridge on Zhibek Zholu Avenue in Bishkek. Press service of the Bishkek City Administration reported.
As noted, the work was carried out to increase the water passage and prevent an emergency situation. Totally, 136 square meters of the riverbed were cleared. The soil was used to reinforce the banks of the river.
In 2017, local authorities, together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, cleared more than 2.7 kilometers of Ala-Archa riverbed and installed more than 250 gabion meshes to reinforce its banks.
