«Any attempts to destabilize the situation during the presidential election will be strictly suppressed,» Almazbek Atambayev said at a meeting of the Kyrgyz Security Council. Information Policy Department of the President’s Office reported.
According to it, information on the situation in the country during the campaign period and on the implementation of measures to prepare for the elections with an emphasis on the primary issues of ensuring national security amid the detention of deputy of the Parliament on suspicion of attempting to organize mass disorders and the forcible seizure of power has been heard.
"Amid the upcoming presidential elections, peace and accord in the country are extremely important for us. We should not allow any provocations during the most important period for the country and ensure peace and security of citizens. In case of attempts to organize disorders, it is necessary to guarantee the inevitability of punishment in accordance with the strictness of the law. In the interests of the state and its future, any attempts to destabilize the situation in the country during the pre-election period will be strictly suppressed, "Almazbek Atambayev said.
