Uzbekistan agrees on construction of Kambar-Ata

Uzbekistan agrees on the construction of Kambar-Ata. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev following the results of negotiations with the head of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev.

According to him, the heads of state during the talks in the narrow format discussed many problematic and scrupulous questions. They touched upon a controversial and complex water issue, which for many years complicated the relations between the two countries.

«We have seriously agreed on water issues, on the construction of power plants. Almazbek Atambayev convinced us that no station in Kyrgyzstan will be built without the participation of Uzbekistan. We are ready to take the most active, including financial, participation. We should carefully, thoughtfully and reasonably do everything that is beneficial to both sides. And the construction of Kambar-Ata is profitable for us. This station is needed,» Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
