President of Uzbekistan quotes Aitmatov's words and urges to follow them

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, cited the words of the writer Chingiz Aitmatov and urged him to follow them. He stated this at a bilateral meeting in a narrow format with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev.

«Chingiz Aitmatov said that Kyrgyz and Uzbeks are peoples who are united by blood and speak the same language. It speaks for itself. We must always remember this,» Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The leader of Uzbekistan noted that now the strategy of the republic in foreign policy is aimed at rapprochement with its neighbors. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan is a strategic partner of Uzbekistan.

«We will do everything in a short time to answer the history correctly for our relations. Today is a historic day. We are signing an agreement on the border. This is the will of the leaders of the two states, so that we turn our border into a border of friendship. I think that now the Kyrgyz and Uzbek people are happy. It’s first time when we come with such a delegation,» Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

He said that Uzbekistan hopes for cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, the development of people’s diplomacy. In addition, hokims of border towns and Tashkent came to Kyrgyzstan so that local authorities could cooperate among themselves, without looking back at the pointer and permission from the center.

I sincerely want our governors and akims to solve all the issues, and not ask the center whether if it is possible to meet.

«And most importantly, we brought a large group of entrepreneurs. It is necessary that entrepreneurs meet and can work without obstacles. If we don’t interfere with them, they will do it themselves. Businessmen of our countries have a desire to draw closer, trade and promote competitive products to the markets of third countries. I want this day to be remembered, that every year it will be filled with concrete deeds, so that our people will adequately appreciate our actions. We have a lot in common in history, and we can never be without each other. If we live together, peacefully, amicably, respecting each other’s interests and reckoning with them, we will be able to achieve the tasks that life sets before us,» the Uzbek president said.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also commented the results of the presidency of Almazbek Atambayev. He is sure that a lot has been done under the leadership of the incumbent president in Kyrgyzstan. The authority of the republic has grown more than ever.

The stability that the president created speaks volumes. I am proud and happy for Kyrgyzstan. We will do everything for this joy to be long and eternal.
