Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan – $ 170 million for six months

The Kyrgyz-Uzbek business forum is being held in Bishkek within the framework of the visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan.

A delegation from representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Economy, the State Committee for Investments, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and more than 20 companies arrived from Uzbekistan.

Marat Sharshekeev, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, noted in his speech that for the first half of 2017 the volume of trade between the two countries amounted to about $ 170 million, which is twice as much as in the first half of 2016.

The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Adham Ikramov, expressed the hope that by the end of 2017 the trade turnover between the two countries will reach $ 500 million.

At the business forum, it is planned to present investment opportunities of Kyrgyzstan, investment potential and free economic zones of Uzbekistan, as well as holding a cooperation exchange between the companies of the two countries.

As noted at the forum, representatives from Uzbek companies of construction, food, processing, industrial and cosmetology industries arrived from the neighboring country.
