Tigran Sargsyan: Citizens should be comfortable in EEU

Citizens should be comfortable in the EEU, chairman of the EEС Board Tigran Sargsyan stated at the economic forum «Issyk-Kul-2017» today. This was reported by the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

According to it, Tigran Sargsyan expressed gratitude to the government of Kyrgyzstan for an active role in the work of the Eurasian Economic Union. The growth of the country’s economy is the main and most significant result of the republic’s accession to the union.

The positive results we record indicate that the entry of Kyrgyzstan into the EEU was a pragmatic step taken in the interests of the whole country.

According to the chairman of the EEC Collegium, Kyrgyzstan already shows that a rapprochement of the levels of economic development of the countries of the union is possible. This issue is of fundamental importance not only for the economy of Kyrgyzstan, but also for all member states without exception, since it will make the cooperation of the states of the union more effective.

According to Tigran Sargsyan, it is important to improve the common markets of the EEU, removing barriers, withdrawals, restrictions.

In general, all participants in the discussion agreed that together the countries of the EEU are really stronger — economically, financially, intellectually, at the level of countries, enterprises and individuals, the press service said.

In accordance with the annual rotation in 2017, the bodies of the Union are chaired by Kyrgyzstan. President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev is chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
