First “iron” lady appears in Kyrgyzstan

The first woman to conquer Ironman appeared in Kyrgyzstan.
Ironman — a series of triathlon competitions. Each race consists of three stages, during which participants need to swim 3.86 km without a break, ride a 180.25 km bicycle along the highway and run 42.195 km. Ironman is considered one of the most difficult one-day competitions in the world. Prestigious not only to enter the top three, but also to simply overcome the distance. This is an indicator of the presence of immense strength of will, spirit, purposefulness and endurance.
The first man from Kyrgyzstan, who conquered Ironman, is Kanat Kelsinbekov. He did it almost two years ago. And the first woman became Julia Fernas.
Yesterday, August 20, in the city of Copenhagen (Denmark) another Ironman was held. Participated about 2,600 athletes from many countries. Among the women in the category of 30-34 years old, 44 athletes competed. Dane Kristina Svežstrup won, finishing in 9 hours 17 minutes 6 seconds. Julia Fernas took 27th place. Her final result was 12 hours 31 minutes 43 seconds. This is 18 minutes faster than Kelsinbekov in 2015.
