The acting Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov must resign as he intends to run for presidency in the country. Presidential candidate Omurbek Babanov announced today at a press conference.
«Unequivocally, the prime minister should leave his post and participate in the race on equal terms with other candidates. The post of head of government should not be affiliated with the party that nominated the candidate. Then they will use the administrative resource. I would propose this option: there are those who are not connected with the party among the current Vice Prime Ministers. An acting officer must be appointed among them. The government should prepare for the autumn-winter works. Law enforcement agencies must ensure the rule of law and stability, and not support any candidate," Omurbek Babanov said.
He also added that there is no need for an early convocation of the Parliament. «The Parliament can start working in September. I do not have information when an extraordinary session will be held. And there is no information that the acting head of the Cabinet is going to leave his post," Omurbek Babanov said.
