Lawyers of Ata Meken party leader, deputy of Parliament, Omurbek Tekebayev, protest against submission of his case to court. The lawyer Taalaigul Toktakunova stated this to 24.kg news agency.
According to her, the attorney of the leader of the socialists Chinara Dzhakupbekova filed a complaint, which says that the investigation group of the State National Security Committee (GKNB), in the charge of which was the criminal case against Omurbek Tekebayev, committed a number of violations of the Criminal Procedure Code.
In particular, she and her client got acquainted only with the first and second volumes of the case of seven. According to the Criminal Procedure Code, the defendant and the defense lawyer can not be limited in time necessary to become acquainted with all the materials.
The lawyers filed a complaint to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The day before, Omurbek Tekebayev’s case was transferred to court. He is accused of corruption. He was taken into custody on February 27.
