A meeting-requiem, dedicated to the anniversary of the liberation of Leningrad from the blockade, was held today in the Victory Park named after D. Asanov in Bishkek.

Russian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Andrey Krutko thanked all the participants of the meeting-requiem for their participation. «I’m happy to see students from schools who don’t forget the history. Kyrgyzstan and Russia are strategic partners that support each other," the diplomat added.

As of today, 42 ​​people who survived the blockade reside in Bishkek. They are allocated 1,000 som monthly from the city budget. In addition, the city gives them money to travel to St. Petersburg. By the decree of the President of Kyrgyzstan they are equal to the participants of the Great Patriotic War.
