Bishkek to host summit of CSTO heads of state on April 13-14

The summit of CSTO heads of state will be held in Bishkek on April 13–14. Press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization informed 24.kg news agency.

According to it, the meeting will be held on the date of the planned meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. Presidents of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia are expected to participate in it.

It should be noted that this year Kyrgyzstan presides over EEU and CSTO.

Earlier, President Almazbek Atambayev in an interview with Mir TV reported that the Collective Security Treaty Organization needed to learn a lot from NATO.

The journalist asked about the benefits of Kyrgyzstan from membership in CSTO, and Almazbek Atambayev said: although the organization is 25 years old, the process of its formation is not over yet.

«There are still tensions within the CSTO between its members, which NATO does not have. Here you have to learn, not reinvent the wheel. The CSTO needs to learn a lot from the North Atlantic Alliance," the Kyrgyz President summed up.
