Ken-Bulun-Avtodorozhniy checkpoint to be temporarily closed

Ken-Bulun-Avtodorozhniy checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh section of the border will be temporarily closed from March 27. Public Relations and Media Department of the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported.

According to it, temporary restriction in passage of citizens, transport and cargo is connected with the reconstruction of the checkpoint.

The date of completion of construction work will be announced later.

Work at this checkpoint began in October 2016 by order of the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic to create favorable conditions for passing through the state border.

It is reported that the modernization of Ken-Bulun-Avtodorozhniy checkpoint will increase its capacity and bring it in line with international standards.

At the time of the construction of the checkpoint, citizens will be able to cross the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border through the nearest checkpoints: Akzhol-Avtodorozhniy, Aktilek- Avtodorozhniy, Chaldybar- Avtodorozhniy and Tokmok- Avtodorozhniy, the border service reported.

Reconstruction of Aktilek-Avtodorozhniy and Chaldybar- Avtodorozhniy checkpoints at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh section of the border is also planned, the report said.
