In 2016, the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of Kyrgyzstan purchased without tender expired drugs in the amount of 7 million soms. The drug meldonium, which is considered to be doping substance, was among them. The Coordinating Council of the Public Councils of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to the chairwoman of the Public Council of the agency Anarkan Kasmalieva, in 2016 there have been formed three working groups, which revealed a number of problems in the agency. One of the most serious is the lack of financial management.
Co-financing was not applied to the sports federations, and they were just sitting on the neck of the state.

Training of the agency staff and coaches is quite acute now. «Only 30–35 percent of the specialists of this sector have higher education. Under this scenario, the development of sports and physical education is out of question," Anarkan Kasmalieva said.
