In 2026, Kurman Ait in Kyrgyzstan will be celebrated on May 27, the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (SDMK) announced.
The date of one of the main Muslim holidays is determined by the lunar calendar and changes annually. Kurman Ait symbolizes the end of the Hajj and is accompanied by traditional rituals, including animal sacrifice and charity.
The holiday is expected to be declared an official public holiday.
