Hardware and software systems have been launched on sections of Bishkek — Osh road in Chui region. They automatically record several types of violations, from speeding to driving without license plates.
According to the Main Traffic Safety Department, the systems are being deployed as part of the Safe Country project, aimed at improving road safety across the regions of the republic.
The new systems can detect:
- speeding;
- driving into oncoming lane;
- running a red light;
- failure to wear a seatbelt;
- violations of road signs and markings;
- driving without state license plates or with fake or unreadable plates;
- outstanding fines previously recorded by Safe City cameras.
The department emphasized that the main goal of the system is to prevent road accidents and improve driver discipline.
The Main Traffic Safety Department also urges drivers to strictly follow traffic rules and road signs, reminding that safety and human life are the highest priorities.
