From August 1 to August 3, 2025, as part of the World Festival of Traditional Culture and Music Rukh Sanat, an international competition among individual performers and creative groups representing the professional musical art of oral tradition (vocal and instrumental direction) will be held in Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. The Ministry of Culture reported.
Professional musicians aged 18 and over are allowed to participate in the competition. Members of creative groups (teams) cannot simultaneously participate in the competition of individual performers.
As part of the festival, an international congress will be held on the topic «Traditional Culture and Art: Issues of Preservation and Development». During the congress, reports will be presented on the recognition and popularization of professional musical art of the oral tradition of the peoples of the world, strengthening friendship between ethnic groups through traditional culture, developing tourism, as well as creating a platform for scientific research and projects in the field of traditional art, including ethnic music.
During the festival, a marketplace will be organized, where the exhibition will feature products of folk craftsmen, works of masters in making musical instruments, music studios and technologies, as well as musical traditions of different countries.
The festival was established by the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Public Foundation Kyrgyzdyn Salttuu Muzykasy (Traditional Music of the Kyrgyz).
The organizers of the festival are the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the Research Center for Traditional Culture and Art of the National Academy of Sciences.
