It is planned to redirect the riverbed in Naryn to protect agricultural lands. The press service of the office of Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the region reported.
Work has begun in Togolok Moldo aiyl aimak of Ak-Tala district to change the Naryn River bed in order to protect arable lands and an irrigation canal.
As of today, 70–80 percent of the main river flow—which previously carried about 90 percent of the river’s water—has been successfully redirected. The new riverbed is being formed naturally, officials noted.
