A new bridge was built and opened in Kochkor district of Kyrgyzstan. According to the office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in Naryn region, the bridge was put into operation on Kochkor-Communism road section across Chu River.
The old reinforced concrete bridge, built in 1970, fell into disrepair due to the intensity of freight traffic. Subsidence of the central supports and deformation of the beams were recorded in 2016. After an inspection by Kyrgyzzholunaadolboor Design and Survey Institute, a decision was made to build a new one.
The work was carried out by Road Department No. 1 of Kyrgyzavtozhol state enterprise under the Ministry of Transport.
The total cost of the project was 51 million soms.
