Investigators of the 4th directorate of the Main Criminal Investigation Department revealed cases of bribery in the field of education. The department received a statement from a resident of Nookat district of Osh region, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
It states that in 2014, the mother of the applicant, a resident of Nookat district, handed over 75,000 soms to the head of the department of one of the universities in Osh for her daughter’s admission to the university. In 2019, the same teacher took 19,000 more soms, allegedly to fill out the necessary documents. In 2022, she again took 20,000 soms. Allegedly, this was necessary for a diploma of higher education.
According to the victim, the university employee assured her each time that everything was fine and there was no need to come.
The woman was again asked for money in 2024. This time she came to the university to check, but she did not find her daughter on the list of students.
A criminal case was opened on this fact under Article 251, Part 2, «Illegal receipt of remuneration by an employee in a large amount» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
It turned out that the daughter of the woman did not enroll in the university and has never been on the list of students. The teacher had been misleading the mother and daughter for 10 years.
The citizen was caught red-handed when returning previously received funds in the amount of 115,000 soms. An investigation is underway.
