Members of organized crime group from Southeast Asia detained in Bishkek

Activities of a group of foreign citizens, who were engaged in kidnapping and extortion of money from their compatriots, have been stopped. The press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.

Members of an organized crime group from Southeast Asia have been detained as part of the investigation of the case under the Article «Kidnapping of a person by a group of people».

According to the SCNS, on September 25, the criminals kidnapped a foreign citizen in Bishkek and, under threat of violence, demanded a large sum of money from him.

The detainees are in custody, investigative measures are ongoing.
