The Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva met with the U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kyrgyzstan Lesslie Viguerie.
The parties discussed global partnership, cooperation within the framework of the USAID project «Okuu Keremet!», " Next Generation Education" and other educational programs.
According to the ministry, a license was received from the Singapore publishing house Marshall Cavendish for 32 titles of international educational and methodological complexes, including English textbooks for grades 1-6, books are being translated from English into Kyrgyz and Russian.
Lesslie Viguerie noted that the U.S. Embassy has been supporting the advanced training of English teachers for the past five years through the «Next Generation Education» project and a master’s program for teachers. He added that the main goal is the development and spread of the English language in Kyrgyzstan.
