The Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan has approved the schedule for the start of the school year and school breaks. The press service of the ministry reported.
According to it, an order was issued «On approval of the basic curricula of general education organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic for the 2024/25 academic year.»
The school year in general education organizations of all types and forms of ownership begins on September 2 and ends on May 26, 2025.
The duration of the school year excluding vacation time is:
- In the 1st grade — 33 weeks;
- In grades 2-8, 10 — 34 weeks;
- In grades 9 and 11, taking into account the examination period — up to 36 weeks.
School breaks schedule:
Autumn — 7 calendar days: November 4-10, classes will begin on November 11;
Winter — 14 calendar days: December 30 — January 12, 2025, classes will start on January 13;
Spring — 7 calendar days: March 17 — 23, 2025, classes will start on March 24.
- For 6-year-olds learning under the 480-hour Nariste pre-school program, the vacations are extended by two additional weeks in the 3rd quarter, and for 1st grade students — by one additional week in the 3rd quarter.
Territorial education departments have to ensure the implementation of the curricula at all schools, regardless of the type and form of ownership, organizational and methodological coordination of the educational activities of all non-state (private) schools.
In order to create equal opportunities for students, the educational process in state and municipal gymnasium schools and lyceum schools, as well as in general education organizations with gymnasium and lyceum classes, is carried out in accordance with the basic curriculum for general education schools.
