Ulanbek Aaliev became the new head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Sverdlovsky district of Bishkek. Sources in law enforcement agencies told 24.kg news agency.
On May 27, by order of the Minister of Internal Affairs Ulan Niyazbekov, the head of Sverdlovsky Internal Affairs Department, Zhenishbek Abitov, his deputy and eight other policemen of the same Internal Affairs Department were relieved of their positions due to the riots on the night of May 18. In total, 20 law enforcement officers, including those from the Main Internal Affairs Department, were punished.
Previously, Zhenishbek Abitov served as head of the Internal Affairs Department of Jalal-Abad region. In early April, he was removed due to an incident involving the unlawful detention of a man and beating of his son.
Ulanbek Aaliev previously held the position of chief of the Internal Affairs Department of Oktyabrsky district of Bishkek. In October 2021, he was detained for exceeding official powers during the detention of Asyla Talipova, suspected of fraud. The Pervomaisky District Court sentenced him on several counts and fined him 300,000 soms. In September 2023, Ulanbek Aaliev was acquitted in the City Court on all charges for lack of corpus delicti with the right to rehabilitation.
