Rosatom prepares pre-feasibility studies for NPPs for Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan

Rosatom has prepared preliminary feasibility studies for the construction of small nuclear power plants (NPPs) in Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan. The annual report of Atomenergoprom JSC (part of Rosatom, consolidates civilian assets of the Russian nuclear industry), says.

«Preliminary feasibility studies have been prepared for the project on the construction of small nuclear power plants in Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan,» the report notes.

Rosatom also intends this year to reach the first agreements on small-capacity NPP projects with countries in Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia.

«Given that the interest of customers in the energy market is shifting towards flexible solutions (both in terms of generation volume and financing), the most important area to which the company will pay special attention in 2024 is the promotion of small NPPs. The company expects to reach the first agreements on such projects with the states of Africa, Latin America and South-East Asia,» the document says.
