Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan plans to create 250,000 jobs in 2024

At least 250,000 jobs should be created this year. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov said at a meeting with government agencies.

According to him, this is one of the most important tasks of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2024.

«Their creation will be one of the indicators of the effectiveness of government bodies at the end of the year,» Akylbek Japarov said.

He believes that the coming year should be a breakthrough in all respects. He noted that a lot has been accomplished for three years of Sadyr Japarov’s presidency.

New production facilities have been created, we are developing the agricultural sector, opening new mining projects, launching the construction of a railway and large hydropower facilities, which will speed up the implementation of the tasks and goals planned for 2024.

«In the near future, a list of one hundred large industrial facilities that should be launched this year will be approved,» he stressed.

The official added that there is currently an acute shortage of qualified labor in the construction and clothing industries. «Many clothing industries attract and are forced to attract foreign labor, while our citizens are in labor migration outside the republic. Therefore, this wide range of issues should be a priority for all government bodies,» he noted.

Following the meeting, the National Statistical Committee was instructed to revise the methodology for calculating the unemployment rate in the country, relevant ministries and departments — to present a mechanism for attracting qualified labor and prepare a roadmap for creation of jobs for 2024.
