Preventive measure for the director of the construction company Emark Group, Cholponbek Akmatov, was changed. Information was confirmed in the Oktyabrsky District Court.
Previously, by a court decision, Cholponbek Akmatov’s preventive measure in the form of detention was extended until January 2024, but the day before the decision was changed.
Cholponbek Akmatov was detained in October. He is accused of money laundering as part of a criminal community. According to investigators, the director of Emark Group and his partner, the head of Burana Grand construction company, Urmat Ishenbekov, invested the income of crime boss Kamchi Kolbaev in real estate. To hide this, in September 2022, they entered into a formal purchase and sale agreement for a land plot of 4 hectares in Cholpon-Ata from Burana Grand LLC in favor of Kaganat Resort LLC.
