The first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, wrote a book of memoirs «My Life». One of these days it will be on sale in bookstores. So far, politicians, experts and journalists received the first copies. Orda.kz reported and published an excerpt from the book.
For the first time Nursultan Nazarbayev confessed to having his second family, Asel Isabaeva and two sons.
«One day I had a chance to go to Taldykorgan. During the head of state’s official trips to the regions, he would be met with flowers when he got off the plane. It’s well known that the prettiest local girls would be chosen to participate in this ceremony. A beautiful ritual that we’d long since gotten accustomed to. From the moment you arrive in a new place, your eyes are pleased and your soul becomes warm. But this time I was especially impressed. The young woman who presented me flowers at the airport was strikingly beautiful. She stayed in my memory for a long time — a fair-faced beauty with a fiery gaze and an elegant, chiseled figure.
How not to remember Gabit Musrepov, who, in the words of the poet Kadyr Myrzaliyev, «at 70 years old did not grow old in heart, and at 80 years old did not diminish the feeling», as well as other famous people who experienced similar stories?
...Some time has passed. The image of that beautiful girl who met me at the airport of Taldykorgan, again and again appeared in my memory. One day I had an unexpected reason to find her. I was looking through the press, when one newspaper photo burned me: in Astana there was a beauty contest «Miss Kazakhstan», where the grand prize was won by that very girl (it turns out her name is Asel) .... Now it was not difficult to find her.
Our friendship grew into mutual sympathy, and that sympathy into intimacy. We gradually began seeing each other. And in Asel’s appearance and thoughts, I found many qualities that I’d been searching for. And most importantly, I freed myself from my long years of spiritual loneliness.
I won’t drag out the story. We got married according to the Muslim custom. Asel gave me two children — two glorious sons. In 2005 Tauman was born, and in 2008 Baiken was born. The joy of fatherhood, the happiness of kissing my baby came back to me when I was already over 65 years old. My babies’ first steps, their first words and babbling speech, holding them in my arms, the magical world of their toys, their first day of school, the joys of them learning to read and write, their noisy run to come greet me when I came home after work — all of this seemed to lighten my burdens during the period when the capital was being built.
Remembering those days and years, I think of them with fondness. By and large, only a child and only the happiness of being a parent can give a person the most important thing in life, the most genuine and lasting happiness.
I treat Sara, the mother of my three daughters — Dariga, Dinara, Aliya, who from young years was my support and was by my side in the hours of the most difficult trials, with gratitude and care all my life. In this difficult life I was comforted by the fact that at that turning point of my destiny she understood and forgave me. When after the birth of Tauman I came to Almaty, apologized to her and told her everything as it was, this representative of a respected dynasty again showed her nobility. «The infant is an angel. May the child be happy!» Sara said then. My daughters also understood me correctly," Nursultan Nazarbayev wrote in his book.
