The Ministry of Justice of Kyrgyzstan is starting to test electronic bracelets, which will be applied to both convicted and supervised citizens.
The ministry notes that the bracelets are also effective in situations involving domestic violence (limiting the proximity radius). They are designed to track the location of a person.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers initiated electronic surveillance of suspects in committing crimes.
The bill on the introduction of a system of control over suspects in the form of electronic bracelets was considered in Parliament in the first reading. If the document is adopted, electronic bracelets and other means of surveillance may be used in practice in 2024.
