Prosecutor General's Office of Kyrgyzstan to control Accounts Chamber

The Prosecutor General’s Office will control the Accounts Chamber. The head of the department, Kurmankul Zulushev, stated at a meeting of the Committee on Law, Order, Combating Crime and Corruption of the Parliament.

The deputies considered in the second reading a bill on amending the constitutional law on the prosecutor’s office, initiated by the president.

«According to the Constitution, the prosecutor’s office controls the strict execution of laws. This year it did not have time to do it, but next year it will assess the acts and conclusions of the Accounts Chamber. Sometimes violations are discovered after audits. The prosecutor’s office must check and assess the execution of the republican budget. This work needs to be done. We will present you with a conclusion on the execution of the republican budget,» the Prosecutor General said, adding that the control will not affect the Institute of the Ombudsman and the Central Election Commission, since Kyrgyzstan is a party to a number of international treaties and agreements.
