Schools and kindergartens in Kyrgyzstan ready for coming winter

Educational organizations in Kyrgyzstan are ready for the upcoming heating season. Acting Minister of Education Ulanbek Usekov announced at a press conference.

According to him, there are 2,177 municipal and state schools in the country. Of these, 1,179 are heated with coal, electricity — 706; 211 have centralized, 58- mixed and 23- gas heating. There are 1,678 kindergartens in the republic. At least 1,003 of them have coal heating, 425 — electric, 160 — centralized, 68 — mixed and 21 — gas heating.

«By decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, all educational organizations in Batken region were transferred to funding from the republican budget. In total, we have been allocated 109 million soms. Including 93,169 million soms for educational institutions in Batken region, the rest of the amount is for schools and kindergartens, which are financed through the republican budget. These are 42 organizations. As of today, 83 percent of the funding has been allocated and there are no delays. The preparation of the remaining institutions for the autumn-winter period is financed from the budgets of local authorities,» Ulanbek Usekov said.
