Kyrgyzstan reports on fulfillment of obligations under Child Rights Convention

A delegation from Kyrgyzstan in Geneva (Switzerland) presented a country report on the fulfillment of obligations undertaken in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The press service of the President reported.

The delegation led by Commissioner for Children’s Rights Asel Chynbaeva presented the combined fifth and sixth periodic country report on the legislative and administrative measures taken to fulfill the obligations undertaken by the Kyrgyz Republic in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

It is noted that the situation in Kyrgyzstan is characterized by a focus on improving the well-being of citizens, especially children, implementation of anti-crisis measures, progressive social and economic development of the republic and laying the foundations for successfully achieving long-term development goals.

In addition, during the session, the Kyrgyz delegation provided detailed information on the main directions of state policy in the field of ensuring children’s rights. In particular, measures were reported to ensure the best interests of the child, introduce the principles of child-friendly justice, prevent discrimination against children, ensure the right of children to live and be raised in a family, ensure the right to education, access to qualified medical care, prevent child labor and much more.
