Construction of three small hydroelectric power plants (HPP) on Chon-Jargylchak river begins in Jeti-Oguz district of Issyk-Kul region. The Green Energy Fund under the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Director of the Fund Emilbek Orozbaev took part in the capsule-laying ceremony. Chon Jargylchak and Kichi Jargylchak HPPs with a capacity of six megawatts each, as well as Ak Terek HPP with a capacity of four megawatts will be built.
The partners and investors of the projects are 40 Capital Trust LLC, DATT Energy LLC and INTEK LLC.
Construction work is scheduled to begin this year. Small hydropower plants are expected to start operating in 2025. Local residents will be involved in the construction and further operation.
Director of Green Energy Fund Emilbek Orozbaev noted that the development of projects in the field of renewable energy sources is a priority for the Cabinet of Ministers. To make the process go faster, a «single window» is starting to work within the framework of the fund’s activities. Assistance in obtaining permits, land plots for the construction of renewable energy facilities will be provided there.
